Welcome to this little corner of the internet – a cozy space I created to make life in Germany feel just a bit more like home for you. I relocated from Pakistan to Germany in August, 2024. Since then I have been trying to make myself feel at home and I understand how challenging it can be. I am settling in the beautiful and brisk region of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). It’s a land of trams, trees, and to-die-for cakes and also, let’s be real, bureaucracy, language barriers, and a few tearful supermarket trips.
Why This Blog?
When I first landed here, I was filled with equal parts excitement, confusion and cluelessness. Germany is stunning, structured, and somewhat overwhelming especially when you’re navigating a new culture, language, and lifestyle all at once. I realized that while there are some resources out there, most of them felt too formal, too generic, or just didn’t get what it’s like to truly start fresh.
That’s when I decided to create this blog — a warm and honest guide for anyone moving to Germany, especially from South Asia or any place where life looks and feels very different from Europe. Think of it as a mix between a digital diary, a survival kit, and a chat over chai with a friend who’s been through it all.

Relocating can feel isolating — but this blog is here to remind you that you’re not doing it alone. Right now I may not have all the answers because I am still fairly new to this country but I will write down my experiences in real time to help you know that its not important for you to come here completely sorted. I’ll share everything I’ve learned (and keep learning), with honesty, warmth, and maybe a meme or two.
